Be a leaf peeper and flock to New England to view nature’s brilliantly hued foliage
Day 1: New York, NY: Begin your journey. Board the vessel at Chelsea Piers.
Day 2: Newburgh, NY: After cruising past the Hudson’s dramatic Palisades, tour the amazing U S Military Academy campus {touring West Point is subject to availability).
Day 3: Catskill, NY: Once a town of only ten houses, explore the city on the other side of the Rip Van Winkle Bridge. This is also the home of 19th century American painter & founder of the Hudson River School, Thomas Cole.
Day 4: Troy, NY: Famed for its 19th century Victorian architecture, the city is a gateway to the Erie Canal.
Day 5: Highland Park, NY: Experience Walkway over the Hudson, the world’s longest elevated pedestrian bridge with breath-taking views 202 feet above the water. Then we bid farewell to the Hudson and make for Long Island Sound, where nature shows its colors in the last hurrah, before giving way to another Northeast winter.
Day 6: Mystic, CT: Explore the historical seaport village of Mystic, home to the nation’s leading maritime museum. You’ll also want to spend time at the Mystic Aquarium, a world class facility that features “touch pools” for sharks and rays, an African Penguin exhibit, plus the only beluga whales in New England.
Day 7: Newport, RI: Visit the elegant summer “cottages” of the Vanderbilt’s located along the famous mansion-dotted Cliff Walk.
Day 8: Fall River, MA: Hosting the largest collection of World War II naval vessels, the city was also once the largest textile producing center in the U.S.
Day 9: Bristol RI: Home of the oldest celebrated Independence Day festivities in the U.S. and the America’s Cup Hall of Fame.
Day 10: Blount’s headquarters is also known as one of Rhode Island’s eclectic antique and arts villages.
